Informal Summit of German Speaking Countries 2025

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde were in Switzerland for the 21st informal meeting of German speaking countries, this time presided by Swiss Bundespräsident Karin Keller-Sutter.

Meeting with President Karin Keller-Sutter.





The King and Queen happened to bump into the Belgian Red Devils at their hotel, only hours before the match against Liechtenstein, which Belgium won 6-0.



Later in the day the participants had dinner at Bad Ragaz.

Friday 5 September 2025

The heads of state of Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein discussed European competitiveness during a train ride to Sankt Gallen. Upon arrival they visited textile company Akris, as well as Sank Gallen's cathedral and abbey library.
