From her office at the royal palace, Queen Mathilde took part in the virtual panel discussion on the relaunch of social entrepreneurship post Corona, vaccinations and sustainable growth in Africa.

Princess Mathilde visited the VLBB, the Flemish Braille & Audio Library of Brussels, that celebrated its 30th year of existence.



Mathilde was nearly 7 months pregnant with her 4th child.

Queen Mathilde visited Sint-Oda, a residential care home in Overpelt for persons with a severe mental disability. 



The centre celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Le Toboggan

Queen Mathilde visited "Le toboggan" in Mons, a residence for teenage girls who have been placed into care. 




Mathilde also visited the "Marsipulama" centre for teenage mothers who are facing difficult circumstances. The young moms have a home at the centre and are being prepared for an independent life with their child once they reach the age of 18.

All of these young women have suffered from the Corona restrictions.

Corona: Teachers

Queen Mathilde had video conversations with various secondary school teachers from Brussels, Wallonia and Flanders. 


They discussed how the pandemic impacts on their teaching practice and how underprivileged children are or aren't coping. Their students' mental health was also on the agenda.
