UN House

As SDG Advocate, Queen Mathilde visited the UN House in Brussels. 




Mathilde talked to representatives of various of the United Nations' organisations about the ongoing realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals.



There was also a virtual visit to the UN Office in Monrovia, Liberia to talk about some of the field activities.

At bakery Les tartes vertes she participated in a round table on female entrepreneurship and financial inclusion.

Car Free Sunday 2021

The Royal Family took to their bikes in Ghent on this year's Car Free Sunday.





Philippe & Mathilde were joined by Crown Princess Elisabeth (19), Prince Emmanuel (15) and Princess Eléonore (13). 

Their brother, Prince Gabriel has already moved across the channel, since school started early September for him at the National College for Mathematics and Science in Coventry. 















The family stopped at the renovated Boekentoren for a visit.

Visit to the Flooded Areas

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde returned to the areas that were heavily affected by the floods of July 2021.


At the town hall of Verviers they were briefed about the current situation. 



In Ensival they met local shopkeepers, representatives of the Red Cross, the army and other organisations. 







Finally they visited the Athénée Royal of Esneux that managed to reopen in time for the new school year.
