Queen Mathilde's music history teacher is Catherine Miller.
They meet about once a month to learn more about the history and multiple aspects of classical music. As chair of the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition, queen Mathilde recently wanted to learn more about Russian composers such as Rachmaninov, Tchaikovski and Prokofiev - popular choices among the finalists.
According to Mrs Miller, Mathilde's own favorite composers are Tchaikovski and Mozart.
Mathilde started playing the piano as a mature student, around 2001 when she was in her late twenties.
