Philippe, Mathilde and their children attended the funeral of Christine Schumann, the wife of Michel "Mickey" Boël, a close friend of the royal family, King Albert II in particular.
King Philippe is a close friend of Mickey's son Harold Boël, who's married to Clotilde de Peñaranda, one of Mathilde's ladies-in-waiting. Needless to say both families know each other very well.
Christine Boël's funeral mass was held at the Notre-Dame des Victoires church at the Sablon in Brussels.
The maker of above photos, Nicolas Fontaine from https://histoiresroyales.fr/ also calls Christine Boël "La marraine de coeur de la princesse Elisabeth".
Christine was born in Paris, as the daughter of Maurice Schumann. She married Michel Boël in 1976. They have a daughter, Alexandra "Framboise" Boël, Princess Samii. Framboise married Rahim Hachem Samii, Prince Rahim Khan. The couple have two children, Princess Hélène Khanom Samii and Prince Raphaël Khan Samii.
Mickey Boël has three more children, from his first marriage to Annick du Roy de Blickuy: Colienne Boël (married to Charles Maskens), Harold Boël and Micha Boël.
