Court has informed various journalists that Prince Emmanuel (18) will be starting his academic career abroad at the end of the summer.
Philippe & Mathilde's third child will be studying languages and sports.
No country, school or study program will be further specified, thus respecting Emmanuel's wish for privacy. Let's not forget that certain press outlets treated him as "dumb" and "slow" based on the fact he attended the Eureka school for children with learning difficulties during part of his childhood. It's rumoured Emmanuel is dyslectic.
Earlier this year he obtained his international baccalaureate from the International School of Brussels, where he studied in English.
All the best to this handsome & intelligent young man! And let's hope to see him back in Belgium now and then in the near future!

Honestly, I think they u-turned the army entry because people was starting making commenst such as he wasn't good enough for the RMA, so he was going to a Sub Officers academ (I'm not sharing that view). But if the case was that he actually didn't make it into the RMA, makes sense he takes a year to prepare (that's what that vague "studying sports" sounds like), while he learns another language and have the experience to be away like his siblings. Other wise, I don't see why not say the exact name of the degree and institution, as they have done with the other children.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMen mag niet vergeten dat studeren aan de Koninklijke Militaire School (RMA), gelijkstaat met universitair onderwijs. Dit is niet voor iedereen weggelegd (of men nu van adel is of een gewone burger). Ik kan het mij niet herinneren, maar ik denk dat er ook een ingangsexamen wordt geëist.
