Invisible Youth European Summit

Queen Mathilde took part in the Invisible Youth European Summit, which was held at the Basilica of Koekelberg (in the freezing cold!)

Mathilde was accompanied by the Presidents of the Walloon & Brussels Regions, Elio di Rupo and Rudi Vervoort.

Among the guests were Patrick Bruel and Axelle Red.

At this I-YES event young people from privileged backgrounds mingled with counterparts who've known a very modest or even difficult start in life: young refugees, victims of domestic violence, young people who have dropped out of school, who have an impairment ... A way to get to know each other, discuss ideas for the future of their generation and create wider networks for all. 

Over a thousand young people between the ages of 15 and 21 discussed issues such as poverty, bullying, inclusion and discrimination, international solidarity and climate.

The event was organized by Une étoile, un destin and OIRD (Organisation Internationale pour le Réussite et le Développement).
