Princess  Mathilde accompanied her husband, prince Philippe on a trade mission to China. The couple had been married for 6 months.

Philippe & Mathilde board the plane, leaving for a two-week journey.

Visit to the Forbidden City.

 

11th May, 2000

Reception in Hongkong.

 Gala dinner in a Hong Kong hotel.

12th May, 2000

Visit to the Nautical School in Hong Kong.

Dinner hosted by Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee-Hwa.

Belgium in the UN

23 October 2015

King Philippe and queen Mathilde were present at the conference "La Belgique dans les Nations Unies : bâtir le consensus, agir pour la paix" that launches the campaign for a Belgian membership in the UN security council for 2019-2020. It took place at the Egmont Palace in Brussels.

Laurence de Ghellinck acted as lady-in-waiting.
