Flashback: enthronement

On the 21st of July 2013, king Philippe became the 7th king of the Belgians, on Belgium's National Day.

In the morning there was a Te Deum at the Saints-Michel et Gudule cathedral in Brussels.





After king Albert II signed his abdication, king Philippe took the oath in Parliament.




The former and new royal couple appeared at a balcony of the royal palace.










In the afternoon the entire family attended the traditional military parade.



At night the new royal couple once again appeared on the balcony.
