On Christmas Eve the four national TV channels RTBF, RTL, VRT and VTM presented a live Christmas Show together dedicated to the special year we've been through.
It was called "Kerst met 11 miljoen" or "Noël à 11 millions: une chaîne de lumières".
Apart from remembering those who died of corona, there were performances by Belgian artists and a contribution of the royal family. The show ended with King Philippe's Christmas speech.
We saw Crown Princess Elisabeth (19) & Prince Emmanuel (15) making a visit to the Home Saint-Joseph, a care home for elderly persons where they have been volunteering.
Prince Gabriel (17) & Princess Eléonore (12) went to help out at Kras, a food bank in Ghent.
At the end of their visits the royals lighted a candle to start the chain of lights.
