200 years after Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, king Philippe & queen Mathilde attended the remembrance ceremony at the Lion's Mound in Waterloo.

The most important guests were: king Willem-Alexander and queen Maxima of Holland, grand duke Henri & grand duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, prince Blücher, prince Jean Christophe Napoléon, the duke of Kent, Arthur Wellesley (the marquess of Douro) and his wife, Jemma Kidd (the marchioness of Douro).

Afterwards Philippe & Mathilde hosted a lunch for the heads of state, the government leaders and the descendants of the main commanders of the 1815 battlefield.

And they visited the new memorial.
