Reception for Athletes 2024

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde hosted a reception at the castle of Laeken for the Belgian athletes and referees who took part in the Paris Olympics and Paralympics.

Private: Elisabeth runs the Cambridge Half Marathon

On Sunday 3 November 2024 Elisabeth (23) took part in the Cambridge half marathon, which she finished in 1:46:05. Elisabeth ran the 21,5 kilometers without any problems, together with a group of friends and her own protection officer who is a Flemish (so Dutch speaking) member of the police force. 

The princess used the name "Elisabeth DSC" which is obviously an abbreviation of Elisabeth de Saxe-Cobourg, the name she's using at Harvard where she's currently studying to obtain a Master's in Public Policy. 

According to Sudpresse, one of Elisabeth's fellow students is an old friend from her schooldays at Sint-Jan Berchmans in Brussels, a young woman named Cecilia.

This was a completely private event. Next time we'll be seeing our Crown Princess will be in the days before Christmas when she returns home for the Holidays. 

Research on Breast Cancer

Queen Mathilde took part in a round table discussion on breast cancer research at TheMerode Private Members club in Brussels, for the 25th anniversary of BIG. 

Marthilde is the Honorary Chairwoman of the Breast International Group. 

Visit to Namur

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde visited the Materne-Confilux factory in Floreffe that produces fruit juices and jams.

At the Ressourcerie Namuroise, a recycling plant, they were given a tour and met with various groups of employees. 

After greeting the public at the Place Saint-Aubin in Namur, the visit ended with a reception at the Maison Provinciale. 

Queen Camilla's Book Club
