Queen Mathilde and Princess Eléonore (7) attended the annual Sea Blessing, a catholic mass on Blankenberge beach in remembrance of those who died at sea.

They were accompanied by Mathilde's lady-in-waiting, Clotilde Boël.

Summer Shoot 2015: Pairi Daiza

For their annual family photo shoot, the royal family went to Brugelette's animal park Pairi Daiza to meet baby elephant Nang Faa and the Chinese panda bears.

The family started their visit before the official opening hours.

Emmanuel (9) was most at ease with the animals and fired questions at the staff. 

Unlike previous editions of this photo shoot, it was a very relaxed and spontaneous event.

From 22 July onwards the family will travel abroad for their summer holidays. 

Last Post

Queen Mathilde attended the 30.000th "Last Post" being played at Menin Gate in Ypres.

Since 1928 the buglers of the Ypres fire brigade have been playing an ode to the soldiers who died in WWI, each day of each year at 20:00. An international network of firemen & buglers played an impressive ode to the ode for this occasion.

The Queen was accompanied by her British born lady-in-waiting, Lindsay Edwards.
