Bruges Beguinage + La Fête des Voisins

Queen Mathilde visited Bruges's last beguinage, the "Prinselijk Begijnhof Ten Wijngaerde" that celebrates its 800 years of existence this year.

A hundred years ago it were Queen Elisabeth & Princess Marie Josée who visited this spot of spiritual beauty at its 700th anniversary. Court shared this photo.

In the afternoon, King Philippe & Queen Mathilde received some 140 residents of Laeken, quite literally their neighbours, for a neighbourhood reception at the Orangerie of Laeken Castle. 

Laeken is one of the 19 municipalities that form the greater region of Brussels Capital.
