Queen Mathilde visited Hotel School Ter Duinen in Koksijde.
The various Belgian hotel schools are regularly involved in activities at the Royal Palace and in the Castle of Laeken. This tradition goes back a long way and is an ideal learning experience for the students.
It was the third time the Queen visited the school, after a stop during her joyeuse entrée in 1999, and a visit for Ter Duinen's 70 years of existence in 2017.
According to journalists, the Queen had a sore throat which meant she couldn't speak up but instead had to whisper.

After a visit to the kitchens, there was a debate with chefs and apprentices.
The visit ended with a lunch prepared by the pupils.
