Official Visit: Vatican City

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde's official visit to Vatican City was originally scheduled for December 2014 but had been postponed when Queen Fabiola died.

Arrival at the airport on 8 March 2015. Queen Mathilde, on crutches, took another exit to avoid steps.

Philippe & Mathilde were received by Pope Francis at 10:30.

They talked for half an hour and exchanged gifts.

 After the meeting there was a private tour and a reception with cardinals at the Belgian embassy.
