Flashback: Isabella's Christening

Princess Mathilde was in Denmark to attend the christening of her goddaughter, Princess Isabella, Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary's second child. 

Isabella was baptized at the Fredensborg palace church, on the estate where her parents were living.

In the morning Mathilde and some of the other royal guests arrived at Fredensborg: Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Crown Prince Haakon & Princess Mette-Marit of Norway.

At 11:30 the ceremony started. It was broadcast live on Danish TV.

Mary said afterwards that they found their inspiration for the name a few weeks before the birth, in a list of names of Danish Royals. Among them was Isabella of Austria and Spain (1501-1526, Archduchess of Austria and infanta of Castilla y Aragón, Queen of Denmark, Sweden and Norway as the wife of King Christian II. She was the daughter of King Felipe I and Juana la loca and the sister of Emperor Charles V. She was born in Brussels. She served as regent of Denmark in 1520.)
