Queen Mathilde watched the online performance of "Pizza Economie", a one man show about sustainable business models by Martin Ophoven.



In the afternoon she met representatives of Les Mots de Tom, an association that supports children and parents who suffer from school bullying.

Lore Vandoorne has been appointed as Court's new Vice Director of Media & Communications. As such she will be the assistant of Director of Communications, Francis Sobry.

Her predecessor, Rafike Yilmaz left her post before Christmas, taking up a new job at Bpost.

Lore Vandoorne started her professional career as a PR consultant, before becoming press & communications advisor for various members of the Flemish Parliament. After two years she moved on to become Head of Communications at Flagey.

Belgian Authors + SDG Conference

Queen Mathilde is back at work after the Easter break. She had a video conference with four Belgian authors. First Bart Moeyaert and Annelies Verbeke, in Dutch. A second call was made in French with Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt and Alia Cardyn.



In the afternoon the Queen participated in the online conference "Why the UN Sustainable Development Goals matter more than ever".

Flashback: Birth of Eléonore

Crown Prince Philippe took his eldest children, Elisabeth (6), Gabriel (4) and Emmanuel (2,5) to meet their new baby sister Eléonore at the Erasme hospital in Anderlecht on the day she was born.


Eléonore was born at 4:50 in the morning, measuring 50 cm and weighing 3,210 kg. 

Her full name was announced as Eléonore Fabiola Victoria Anne Marie.

Her godparents were also reveiled: Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Princess Claire of Belgium as godmothers and Count Sébastien von Westphalen zu Fürstenberg as godfather. Which makes Eléonore the only one of Philippe & Mathilde's children with more than 2 godparents.
