National Day 2021

King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and their children, Crown Princess Elisabeth (19), Prince Gabriel (17), Prince Emmanuel (15) and Princess Eléonore (13) attended the Te Deum at the Saints Michel et Gudule cathedral in Brussels.

In the afternoon The King & Queen, Prince Gabriel (17), Prince Emmanuel (15) and Princess Eléonore (13) watched the military and civilian parades at the Place des Palais.































They were joined by Princess Astrid & Prince Lorenz and Prince Laurent.

For the first time King Philippe's half sister, Princess Delphine and her husband Jim O'Hare were also present.


There were odes to "everyday heroes" and live music performances by Loïc Nottet, Novastar, Bazart, Zwangere Guy & Roméo Elvis, dedicated to the  victims of the floods. 

Crown Princess Elisabeth (19), a student at the Royal Military Academy, was part of a detachment of student officers that paraded in front of the King.

After the ceremony the Royal Family, minus Elisabeth who went back to summer camp with her fellow soldiers, made a visit to Farra Clerlande, a residence in Ottignies for persons with a mild or severe mental impairment. 







As a last activity they visit the National MS Center in Melsbroek.
