Flashback: Trade Mission to Mexico

From 21 March to 27 March 2009, Prince Philippe & Princess Mathilde led an economic mission to Mexico and Panama. Mathilde only took part in the Mexican program. Her youngest child, Princess Eléonore wasn't 1 year old yet.

Prince Philippe & Princess Mathilde visited the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City.




In the evening, cocktail party at the residence of the Belgian ambassador.


23 March 2009

Official welcome ceremony with Mexican President Felipe Calderon & First Lady Margarita Zavala at presidential residence Los Pinos in Mexico City.

Mexico City's Mayor, Marcelo Ebrard decorated Philippe & Mathilde during a ceremony in honour of the royals at the city's council in Mexico City.

25 March 2009

Princess Mathilde visited children's home "Diablos Rojos en Acción" (Red Devils in Action) in Zinacantepec. The children's home has been financed by the Belgian government since 1986, when Belgium participated in the Worldcup and made it to the quarter finals.
