Meeting with Mrs. Pramila Patten on the subject of sexual violence during conflicts, specifically in regards to children. "There is a link between sexual violence in our society during times of peace and such violence during armed conflicts."
Queen Mathilde was a speaker on the Save the Children meeting "How are We Going to Stop the War on Children?" Mathilde: “The way we treat children affected by armed conflicts has consequences for their future, the future of their communities and the future of their country”.

Keynote address on the SDGs at the Kapuscinski Development Lectures for the 7th Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development at Columbia University.
Mathilde: "Progress is too slow. In some places, it is even reversing. Urgency should become our model. We need to transform radically and much faster. Above all, we must transform the way we think.”
Afterwards Mathilde met the Belgian students at Columbia.
A meeting with Achim Steiner, administrator of UNDP, concludes the series of meeting in the margin of this 74th AGUN. UNDP is a key partner for the implementation of the SDGs in developing countries.
