For the 4th time in a row, Queen Mathilde was present in Tongeren to watch the Kroningsfeesten, a folkloric procession in honour of the Virgin Mary that takes place every seven years.
The Royal Couple have proven to be faithfull attendants of this piece of local heritage. Mathilde attended the edition of 2002 with Philippe. The couple returned in 2009, and in 2016 they were accompanied by Princess Elisabeth, then 14 years old.
