End of Summer Camp

The Royal Military Academy and Belgian Royal Court both published photos of Prince Gabriel (19) and Princess Elisabeth (21) who have finished their summer camps with the military academy.

Gabriel and his fellow student officers spent a month training on location and learning to use new skills. The Prince has completed his first year at the Academy succesfully. He's expected to complete the three year bachelor course.

For the third time in a row, Crown Princess Elisabeth joined her former classmates for the duration of the monthlong summer camp.
The group learned to direct a platoon of some 30 soldiers. They had theory classes, tactical exercises and they practiced combat procedures. They also worked on using more complex weapons, like grenades and anti tank artillery. 

The second part of the camp was spent in the Westhoek, the region around Ypres, where military cemetaries were visited. 

In the autumn, Crown Princess Elisabeth and her comrades will take their oath as officers.
