King Philippe & Queen Mathilde started their visit in Ruiselede's Penitentiary Farm, an open detention centre where inmates prepare for their return into society.
It was the second time Mathilde visited the centre. In 2009 she was present at the site for the project "Open leren achter tralies".
Also in Ruiselede, the Royal Couple visited piano builders Maene who are purveyors to the royal courts of Belgium and the Netherlands.
Then Philippe & Mathilde were taken to Pittem, where they had a discussion with local CEOs on the impact of Brexit on business.
The visit to the province ended with a reception and a walkabout.
Mathilde told persons in the crowd that her throat still hurt and she only had a feeble voice, because of a virus:
