Queen Mathilde was a guest at the wedding of Belgian-Brazilian Princess Alix de Ligne & French Count Guillaume de Dampierre, at the castle of Beloeil.


Mathilde arrived at 15:00, in time for the reception.

European Development Days 2016

As SDG Advocate, Queen Mathilde had a work lunch with various representatives of the European Institutions. She was informed about the EU's implementation of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.



The lunch took place at the Brussels residence of the Belgian permanent representative at the EU.


In the afternoon, Queen Mathilde visited the UN in Brussels for the "European Development Days". 


Before her keynote address, the Queen talked to UN advisor and Libyan female rights activist, Alaa Murabit.



She also had a private meeting with Winnie Byanyima of Oxfam International.


With her keynote address, Queen Mathilde closed the conference.




She visited various stands and talked to development workers.







Laurence de Ghellinck acted as Mathilde's lady-in-waiting.
