Reception for Athletes + AI Conference

6 October 2026

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde hosted a reception at the castle of Laeken for Belgian athletes who've won a medal in European/world championships or at the Olympics/paralympics in the last two years.

Queen Mathilde had a second activity: she attended the presentation of the conclusions of the conference "AI in balance" organized by her patronage, the Federal Council for Sustainable Development (FRDO/CFDD).

Afterwards Mathilde had a debate with young people. She wanted to know how they use AI to make daily life more sustainable.

The conference took place at the Pacheco Center in Brussels.
