Informal Summit of German Speaking Countries 2026

1 September 2026 - 2 September 2026

This year Austria's president, Alexander van der Bellen hosts the meeting in Innsbruck. The heads of state of Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Germany are also present.

Theme of the summit is Europe's future, the topic of discussion at the Alpbach Forum which is being held at the same time in the Austrian Alps.

Afterwards the party visits the Stubaier glacier where the effects of climate change on the Alpine regions are discussed.
