At the event Queen Paola handed over her place in the patron's council to Queen Mathilde.
The former Queen must have been sincerely implicated with the organization. Missing Children Europe was actually founded, as an international federation for missing and sexually exploited children connecting 31 grassroot organisations in 26 countries across Europe, on 18 November 2010 at the Royal Palace in Brussels, at a prestigious event hosted by Queen Paola (where Mathilde was also present): https://queenmathilde.blogspot.com/2021/11/flashback-international-conference-on.html
