The Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen and his wife, Mrs Doris Schmidauer made a state visit to Belgium from 21 to 23 March 2022.

Arrival of the Austrian President and his wife at the Place des palais in Brussels.
Official welcome at the Royal Palace.
In the afternoon Queen Mathilde joined Doris Schmidauer in visiting the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo.
In the evening a modest official dinner, scaled down because of the war in Ukraine, took place at the Castle of Laeken.

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde, Princess Astrid & Prince Lorenz and Prince Laurent attended a dance performance at Tour & Taxis, responding to the invitation of Austrian President Van der Bellen and his wife.
The performance of the ImPulsTanz Dance Festival from Vienna was performed for the occasion by Liquid Loft and Rosas.
There was a reception afterwards.
In these gloomy times we all need something to look forward to. Superficial somehow but since Elisabeth is in town I look forward to see her tomorrow evening with a fabulous gala gown, her Austrian sash secured with a leaf of the Spanish wedding tiara and with Queen Elisabeth's art deco tiara on her head.
