King Philippe & Queen Mathilde visited the unit specialized in eating disorders of the psychiatric hospital Alexianen in Tienen.
The next visit was also in Tienen. At international research center SESVanderHave Philippe & Mathilde were informed about the selection of sugar beet seeds and varieties.
Then the Royal Couple visited the abbey of Averbode, founded 900 years ago by Premonstratensians.
Philippe & Mathilde had lunch at restaurant Hof te Rhode in Diest where chef Levi Alen and his team welcomed them. Levi's father Felix Alen, who died earlier this year, was at one point the royal family's private chef. Later King Baudouin also visited his restaurant.
The visit to the province concluded in Diest where the Royal Couple was offered a reception.
They also took the time for a walkabout.
