Conservatoire Royal de Liège + Young Professionals: Artists
6 December 2018
As honorary chairwoman of the Queen Elisabeth Music Foundation, Queen Mathilde visited the Royal Conservatorium of Liège. No lady-in-waiting this time, instead Mathilde was accompanied by Jan Huyghebaert, chairman of the QEC.
During her 90 minute stay, the Queen was informed about the academic schooling the conservatoire offers in classical music, the musical heritage curated by the library and the social function of music for larger audiences.
Back at home Queen Mathilde changed into a new dress for a dinner she & King Philippe hosted at the castle of Laeken for young artists. All of these artists' work involves and promotes integration. A clear, inclusive signal by the King & Queen.
