In the company of the Prince of Wales and the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited Tyne Cot Cemetary and the Dug Out trench under the church of Zonnebeke, as part of the commemoration of the centenary of the Battle of Passchendaele.
They also attended the official opening of the British Memorial Garden in Zonnebeke.
The day ended with a visit to the exhibition "Passchendaele Memorial Garden" where the royal guests met with descendants of WWI victims.

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde joined the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge to attend the Last Post at the Menin Gate in Ypres.
Then they watched a BBC spectacle commemorating the centenary of the battle of Passchendaele - also known as the third battle of Ypres, at the Ypres Grand Place.
Afterwards they visited the In Flanders Fields Museum where they met descendants of WWI veterans.
King Philippe & Queen Mathilde joined the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge to attend the Last Post at the Menin Gate in Ypres.
Kate wore a hat with a white feather, such an odd choice for this occasion.
Clotilde Boël acted as lady-in-waiting.

Flashback: WWI Commemoration

Queen Mathilde, King Philippe and German President Joachim Gauck attended a ceremony of commemoration in Leuven, exactly 100 years after the outbreak of the First World War.
Then the Royal Couple went to Mons for a remembrance ceremony at the Saint Symphorien Military Cemetery in Mons to mark the 100th anniversary of Great Britain declaring war on Germany.
