Jewels: Wolfers Tiara

The Wolfers tiara was donated to Queen Fabiola in 1960 by a group of wealthy Belgian industrialists and public figures, on the occasion of her marriage to King Baudouin.

It was created by Brussels jeweller Wolfers and contains 205 diamonds.

The tiara can also be worn as a necklace.

Queen Fabiola left the tiara to her niece-in-law, Queen Mathilde who wore it for the first time in October 2015 on the occasion of the Belgian state visit to Poland.

In October 2023 Crown Princess Elisabeth (21) wore the Wolfers tiara for the first time at the 18th birthday gala for Prince Christian of Denmark.

On Prince Christian of Denmark's 18th birthday, his grandmother Queen Margrethe II hosted a gala dinner in his honour at Christianborg Palace in Copenhagen.

Crown Princess Elisabeth was among Christian's royal guests.

Elisabeth was wearing a beautiful new gala dress designed by Natan. Her pumps were by Armani. She carried one of Mathilde's clutches.

The Crown Princess was also wearing her mother's Wolfers tiara for the first time, combined with Mathilde's diamond solitaire earrings.

On her back, her sash was secured with Mathilde's birthday brooch.

Elisabeth was seated next to (former Prince) Felix of Denmark, Count de Monpezat, another grandson of the Danish Queen.

Also at their table: actress Safina Coster-Waldau (daughter of Game of Thrones actor Nicolai Coster-Waldau).
