Battle of the Bulge Commemorations 2024

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde, accompanied by Grand Duke Henri & Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, commemorated the Battle of the Bulge, 80 years after 1944. Some of the last surviving American veterans were present.

First there was a ceremony in Hamm, in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

At noon the royals had lunch together at the Luxembourg royal palace.

Then they went to Bastogne in Belgium, at the General McAuliffe Memorial, where they greeted the veterans and joined them for the tradional throwing of nuts.
