Flashback: Twinning in The Hague

4 December 2007

On the day of her 8th wedding anniversary, Princess Mathilde joined Princess Maxima of the Netherlands for a visit to the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague, The Netherlands. They went to the opening of the exhibition "De schilderkunst der Lage Landen".


When Mathilde got out of the car, both princesses were surprised that the coat they'd chosen was so similar in pattern! Mathilde, who was 5 months into her fourth pregnancy, was wearing a coat by Natan. Maxima was wearing a set by Oscar de la Renta.







The media had a field day, claiming they were wearing the same thing. After the visit Mathilde phoned her unofficial fashion advisor, Edouard Vermeulen of Natan, to tell him "You never guess what happened" ...

Queen Elisabeth Competition 2025: Piano

5 May 2025: First session of the First Round at Flagey.






12 May 2025: Semi finals at Flagey.



As usual Mathilde was accompanied by Count Yvan de Launoit, chairman of the competition, and the previous chairman, Jan Huyghebaert. 

16 May 2025: Semi finals at Flagey.




26 May 2025: Lunch for the members of the jury at the Royal Palace in Brussels.

26 May 2025: Finals at Bozar.










27 May 2025: Finals at Bozar.












Mathilde was accompanied by Crown Princess Elisabeth (23) who's just back from Harvard.
Extra guests were Mathilde's sister, Countess Hélène d'Udekem with her eldest daughter, Baroness Cordélia Janssen (13).



Elisabeth was wearing a new cocktail dress by Rebecca Vallance and Mathilde's Percossi Papi earrings.

Mathilde was in the company of Princess Sibilla of Luxembourg.



29 May 2025: Finals at Bozar.

Mathilde was accompanied by former chairman of the Competition, Jan Huyghebaert.





31 May 2025: Finals & Proclamation of the winner at Bozar.



Mathilde was accompanied by Princess Eléonore (17), who was wearing a new gown by El Corte Inglés for the occasion.




At the end of the evening the winner was announced: Nikola Meeuwsen. Belgian Valère Burnon was third.








3 June 2025: Award ceremony at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Argenteuil.

9 June 2025: Laureate Concert at Bozar.

11 June 2025: Closing concert at Bozar.
