King Philippe's niece, princess Luisa of Belgium celebrated her 21st birthday (ahead of the actual day) with a big party in Gallipoli, Italy.

Among the 200 guests were also Philippe and Mathilde.

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde are back in Belgium, after holidays in France and a short visit to the Rio Olympics.

They visited the police constabulary of Charleroi that was attacked last weekend. A man with a machete severely wounded two police women.

In the morning the King and Queen of the Belgians met representatives of KIYO, a Belgian ngo that works with street children in Rio de Janeiro. 

The visit was initially supposed to take place in a favela where more than 100 children had prepared a musical for them. However the Brazilian authorities vetoed the visit. In the end Philippe & Mathilde talked to a delegation of KIYO in the garden of the Museum for Modern Art.

In the evening they attended a reception for heads of state, hosted by president Michel Temer.

Afterwards the Belgian Royal Couple attended the official Opening Ceremony at the Maracana Stadion.

In the morning the King & Queen watched judo in the company of Princess Anne and her husband, Timothy Lawrence.

Later they visited the olympic village and met Belgian athletes.
