A Break in France

After Pope Leo XIV's inaugural mass at the Vatican, Philippe & Mathilde flew straight to their holiday home on the French island Yeu, where they are enjoying a short break of about a week.

Inauguration of Pope Leo XIV

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde attended the inauguration mass of Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican.

Born Robert Francis Prevost, Pope Leo XIV is the 267th pontiff of the Catholic Church and the first US-born cleric ever to hold the position. Pope Leo XIV succeeds Pope Francis, who died on Easter Monday.
