The baptism of the new vessel was supposed to take place in 2020 but got postponed because of the COVID pandemic.

It was Elisabeth's second time to christen a ship. In 2015, at the age of thirteen, she christened the Pollux: as you can see here . At the time she was of course accompanied by her parents.

When the Crown Princess arrived at 16:20 it started raining.

After the christening Elisabeth was given a tour of the ship.

For this special event, Crown Princess Elisabeth wore a Reiss dress, a Fabienne Delvigne hat and purse and her mother's Percossi Papi earrings.

Symposium of HM The Queen: Mental Health among Children & Teenagers

24 June 2022

A brand new initiative: a (menatl health?) symposium will take place led by Mathilde ...

The very first "Symposium of Her Majesty The Queen" was dedicated to mental health among children and teenagers. It was organized by the Académie Royale de Médecine de Belgique that Queen Mathilde is patron of.

Mathilde talked to a number of young people who testified about their own mental health problems.

During her opening address, Queen Mathilde emphasized the importance of a holistic approach when dealing with mental health problems, just as prevention, early detection, care and the personal involvement of the young person are essential.

More News on Elisabeth

24 June 2022

Tonight Crown Princess Elisabeth (20) is sitting for this year's final exams in Oxford. When she's finished she will immediately leave for Belgium, as she's got an official activity planned for tomorrow, baptizing a ship. Later in the week she'll open a new technology lab at Leuven University. These two activities will be the first the Princess performs solo.

Meanwhile, the Dutch heir to the throne, Princess Amalia (18) has spoken about the contact she keeps with Elisabeth, in an interview today:

"We live in different countries so we use social media, Whatsapp ... What I really appreciate about Princess Ingrid and Princess Elisabeth, because we're in the same position we understand each other immediately. We don't have to explain anything. It's so nice to just be able to talk to each other about very basic things in life that are different from other people's lives. We understand each other."
