Queen Mathilde had a virtual discussion with educational psychologist Bruno Humbeeck. They talked about Mr Humbeeck's field of expertise: the mental health of children and teenagers confronted with violence at school or within families.

Princess Mathilde visited an exhibition on the treatment of mental diseases, at the Dokter Guislain Museum in Ghent.
Prior to the visit, she'd attended a study day on children and young adults with special needs.

Queen Mathilde visited the pedopsychiatry department of UZ Brussel Hospital, and their residential care homes "De Appeltuin" and "Villa Samson", where children can receive the visit of their pets.
Since the start of the lockdown measures a year ago, the pedopsychiatry ward has seen the number of children with an eating disorder triple.
Mathilde wished to be informed further on the subject. Many topics were discussed freely, also the permanent underfinancing the hospital has to deal with.
Mathilde's visit was very much appreciated by the direction, the staff and the patients.
