Entourage: La Maison du Roi

Newspaper Le Soir was allowed to photograph king Philippe & queen Mathilde with all of their advisors, the royal household. 


Also included are their GP and vicountess Laurence de Ghellinck, one of Mathilde's ladies-in-waiting who was at the palace that day.

Waterloo

Two hundred years after Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, King Philippe & Queen Mathilde attended the remembrance ceremony at the Lion's Mound in Waterloo.

The most important guests were King Willem-Alexander & Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Grand Duke Henri & Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, Prince Blücher, Prince Jean-Christophe Napoléon, the Duke of Kent, Arthur Wellesley, the Marquess of Douro and his wife Jemma Kidd, the Marchioness of Douro.
































Afterwards Philippe & Mathilde hosted a lunch for the heads of state, the government leaders and the descendants of the main commanders of the 1815 battlefield.






They also visited the new memorial.

The day before the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, King Philippe & Queen Mathilde hosted a reception at the castle of Laeken for the Hereditary Grand Dukes of Luxembourg, and for the descendants of the 4 main commanders of the Waterloo battlefield: Prince Blücher (Prussia), Prince Jean-Christophe Napoléon (France), Prince Pieter-Christiaan of Oranje-Nassau (Netherlands) and Lord Arthur Wellesley, the Marquess of Douro (Britain).



The Marquess of Douro was accompanied by his wife, Lady Jemma Kidd.

Queen Mathilde hosted a roundtable on solutions to bullying. The debate was held at the royal palace in Brussels.
