25 Years after Rwanda + Enabel

3 April 2019

King Philippe & Queen Mathilde met with the families of the Belgian paracommandos who were killed in Rwanda on 7 April 1994, at the start of the genocide. The meeting took place at the military base of Flawinne.

As SDG advocate for the United Nations, Queen Mathilde also attended Enabel's 20th anniversary event at Bozar in Brussels.

Enabel is a Belgian development agency that unites international experts to create a sustainable world where men and women live under the rule of law and are free to thrive.

Mathilde was accompanied by her private secretary Machteld Fostier, by her personal advisor on SDGs & international development, Bénédicte Frankinet and by her lady-in-waiting, Laurence de Ghellinck.
