Waterloo

Two hundred years after Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, King Philippe & Queen Mathilde attended the remembrance ceremony at the Lion's Mound in Waterloo.

The most important guests were King Willem-Alexander & Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Grand Duke Henri & Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, Prince Blücher, Prince Jean-Christophe Napoléon, the Duke of Kent, Arthur Wellesley, the Marquess of Douro and his wife Jemma Kidd, the Marchioness of Douro.
































Afterwards Philippe & Mathilde hosted a lunch for the heads of state, the government leaders and the descendants of the main commanders of the 1815 battlefield.






They also visited the new memorial.
