Elisabeth Graduates from Oxford

23 July 2024

Crown Princess Elisabeth's Oxford University days are over ... After three years she has earned her Bachelor of Arts in History & Politics from Lincoln College.

Around 11:00 King Philippe & Queen Mathilde, Princess Elisabeth, Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eléonore had a meeting with Professor Henry Woudhuysen, dean to Lincoln College, and Professor Irene Tracey, Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford.

Gabriel wasn't there because of the annual summer camp of the Royal Military Academy which lasts until the end of July.

With her fellow students, Elisabeth attended the graduation ceremony at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford. Her family were given a place of honour.

During the ceremony which was conducted in Latin and lasted 1,5 hours her name was called as "Elisabeth de Saxe Cobourg".

Elisabeth and her relatives posed for the press in the library.

Time to throw your cap in the air ...

Elisabeth stepped to the Belgian press and started talking to them in Dutch and French. A wonderful moment where the Belgian Crown Princess proved once more how well she masters both languages.

Her friend, Alexia Korosidi answered a question from the Belgian press about what Elisabeth is like:

"She's extremely spontaneous, but at the same time very wise and a very reliable person, always there to, you know, help me with anything I needed and guide me through things. I think she's also extremely responsable. So she's the best of both worlds. I can say that we had quite a bit of fun together. Well honestly I never expected us to be friends, but now she's one of my best friends and I feel really lucky to have met her. You're very lucky to be Belgian!"

And now ... It's on to Harvard for this intelligent Princess!
